VDA 6.3 - Process audit (according to the new edition 2023)

Course objectives

Process audit is used to monitor and review the production processes. It is an important tool for internal evaluation, but also for the assessment and selection of suppliers. Process audits are used to verify the level of quality control and compliance with product requirements. The VDA 6.3 tool serves as a means to support the zero-defect strategy, and through a detailed analysis of the inputs to the production process, it is possible to identify nonconformity in advance and create room for improvement. During the training, participants will get acquainted with the process audit rules according to the VDA 6.3 standard and will gain professional qualifications for conducting process audits.

• Audit requirements according to VDA 6.3 (2023) and IATF 16949 standards
• Process management and assumptions for process audit
• Description and explanation of the potential analysis - evaluation of new and unknown suppliers
• Scope and possibilities of using process auditing, definition of types of audits
• Audit preparation and planning, requirements specification and preparation of questions
• Audit implementation - opening and summary wraup-up discussions, communication of requirements during the audit, questioning techniques, records retention
• Audit evaluation - preparation of the final report and presentation of results, formulation of adopted measures and monitoring of their subsequent implementation
• The most common mistakes that occur during process audits performance in practice
• Practical exercises and examples from practice
