PPAP - Production Part Approval Process

Course objectives

The aim of the training is to inform the participants about the process of approval of production parts and to practice customer-specific approval procedures. Improvement of quality assurance management (Quality Manager, Quality Engineer, SQA specialists, Project Manager).

Course content

• Purpose and objectives of the PPAP process in the context of IATF 16949 requirements
• Explanation of terms and abbreviations
• Process requirements (Significant Production Run)
• Customer notification requirements regarding changes and the need for the PPAP process (presentation of examples of specific requirements from Ford, GM, Toyota, PSA, MB)
• Set of 18 key PPAP process requirements/activities
• Levels of submission to the customer / choice of level
• 3 alternatives for customer approval status
• Explanation of documentation/formats according to the PPAP Manual (4th edition 2009) (Ford, Chrysler, General Motors) and VDA 2 guidelines - Quality Assurance of Supplies
• Product quality assurance in series deliveries
• Management of the PPAP process with suppliers
• Practical application
