Course objectives

The objective is to teach course participants to take action based on data-interpretation graphs and statistical indicators. Using statistical methods, it is possible to focus on significant causes and influences between variables.

Course content

• Basics of statistics and SPC
• Graphic process analysis: histogram, dotplot, boxplot and pareto
• Process stability evaluation using time plots (Time plot, Run chart)
• Process stability evaluation using control graphs for continuous data (I-MR, X-R, X-S)
• Process stability evaluation using control graphs for discrete data (c, u, p, np)
• Process capability analysis
• Statistical testing for two or more selections
• Determination of statistical dependence between variables using correlation and regression
• Normality tests, Mean tests (t-test), Variance tests (F-test, Levene’s test, Barlet test), Median tests (Kruskal Wallis test, Wilcoxon test), ANOVA test
• Ratio tests (Chi square, Conformity test, Independence test)
• Practical exercises
