He is a graduate of the High Military Aviation School of the Slovak National Uprising (VVLŠ SNP) in Košice in the engineering-aeronautical-mechanical field. After completing an internal scientific postgraduate course at the Military Academy in Brno at the Department of Aircraft and Engines (his candidate's dissertation was focused on the issue of diagnostics of the automatic control system of an aircraft blade engine), worked at the Research Institute of the Czechoslovak Air Force in Prague, where he oversaw the development and certification (test stands and flight tests) of the DV-2 dual-jet engine and participated in the investigation of air accidents. After the division of the former Czechoslovakia, he returned to Slovakia and worked in the armaments and defense research bodies of the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic from its foundation until 2009 in various positions up to the position of director of the armaments department - deputy national director for armaments. In the years 1999 - 2003, he worked as a defense adviser at the Mission of the Slovak Republic for NATO, where he coordinated cooperation with the Alliance in the areas of armaments, defense research and standardization. He has extensive experience in the creation and coordination of the processing of conceptual, strategic and other materials as well as projects in the areas of the development of aviation technology, technical and test bases, armaments, defense research, standardization, support of the defense industry. He held the position of Chairman of the Commission of the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic for Military-Technical Development, represented the Ministry of Defence at the negotiations of the highest NATO body in armaments - CNAD and at the negotiations of the European Defence Agency (EDA) in the format of national directors for armaments, and for several years coordinated cooperation with authorities and working groups NATO and EDA in the fields of armaments and defense research. In a fundamental way, he participated in the establishment and subsequent management of the Military Aviation Technical and Testing Institute in Košice, and after its transformation he held the position of chairman of the supervisory board of the Slovak Aviation Institute, Košice. Since 2009, he has worked as a quality manager in an aviation industry company and as a professional assistant at the Aviation Faculty of the Technical University in Košice and at the Materials Technology Faculty of the Slovak Technical University. He also lectured at the Milan Rastislav Štefánik Academy of Armed Forces in Liptovský Mikuláš and at the Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín. Among other subjects, he also lectured on quality, safety and environmental audits, the basics of quality management, technical standardization and testing, technical diagnostics, risk management methods. He was a member of the editorial board of two scientific journals. In 2021, he successfully completed his habilitation in the field of transport habilitation at the Aviation Faculty of the Technical University in Košice.

The results of his scientific and research activities were published in 3 scientific monographs, 1 university textbook and 83 scientific and professional articles published in scientific and professional journals (including two papers in quarantined scientific journals) and contributions presented at international and domestic conferences in the field of aviation development technology, defense and security, armaments, defense research, quality management and standardization with more than 190 references (citations), of which 38 citations are registered in the Web of Science citation indexes and in the SCOPUS database. He currently works as a state adviser in the Department of Aircraft Capability of the Transport Office.
 

Education:

Graduate and engineer of the High Military Aviation School of the Slovak National Uprising (VVLŠ SNP) in Košice. In 1988, he received the degree of CSc. at the Antonín Zápotocký Military Academy in Brno. Other training completed: Auditor training for performance internal audits of the quality management system and management environment; Internal auditor according to file ISO 9001 standards; Strategic studies course in armaments (SERA) at the Ministry of Defence of the French Republic/ DGA (General Delegation for Armaments); A course focused on NATO peace support operations; International Defence Resource Management Course.

Practice and acquired experience:

He started as commander platoons of school units of the Military Secondary Vocational School of Aviation in Prešov. He was responsible for teaching preparation and compliance rules daily for students at the Military Vocational High School of Aviation. He was an internal scientific aspirant of the Department of Aircraft and Engines of the Antonín Zápotocký Military Academy in Brno. From 1988 to 1992, he was the head of the Aircraft Engines Group, Aircraft and Engines Department at Research Institute 030 of the Czechoslovak Air Force Prague – Kbely. He oversaw the development of the DV-2 dual-jet engine in engineering plants in Považská Bystrica. Later, he held several positions: senior senior officer specialist, director of the Air Force Development Department of the Department of Research and Development, head of the Armament Policy Department, head of the Armament Planning Department at the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic in Bratislava. He also worked as a chief state adviser - head of the Departmental Coordination of Cooperation with CNAD and EDA and Defence Research of the Department of Armaments of the Defence Planning and Resource Management Section of the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic. From 2011 to 2014, he was the representative of the management for quality. He was responsible for the maintenance and development of the quality management system (QMS) according to the requirements of STN EN ISO 9001:2009, SOŠ AQAP 2110, ensuring the fulfillment of the requirements for type certification of the company's products and systems according to the requirements of aviation legislation and the Aviation Authority of the Slovak Republic.

Teaching experience and publications:

He currently works as an assistant professor at the Slovak Technical University, Faculty of Materials Science and Technology, located in Trnava. He uses his rich experience and knowledge when teaching subjects: Basics of quality management, Quality, safety and environmental audits, Technical standardization and testing, Business studies, Technological and natural accidents, Risk management methods. He is the author of many publications and scientific works. He currently works as a lecturer at CeMS, where he provides courses in the field of automotive and aviation.
