AUTHOR

Harmonized standards EN 1090 are set by European standardization organizations, which specify the methods and criteria for assessing the parameters and essential properties of construction products.

The legislation lays down the conditions for placing construction products on the market or making construction products available on the market by laying down harmonized rules on how to express the parameters of the essential characteristics of construction products and the use of the CE marking on these products.

What does this mean for construction product manufacturers who manufacture and sell steel and aluminium structures?

It is necessary to implement and certify:

  • a production control system that meets the requirements of the product standard,
  • rules on declaration of parameters,
  • rules for marking products with the CE mark.

Who are the standards binding for?

  • Manufacturers of metal and aluminium constructions that introduce these products in construction.
  • Importers who place built - on products on the market.
  • Distributors, when making a construction product available.
