TISAX stands for Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange and is used to demonstrate that a supplier (especially Tier 1 and Tier 2) to the automotive industry meets demanding information security requirements. The TISAX system was created by the German Association of the Automotive Industry, VDA (Verband der Automobilindustrie). It is based on ISO 2700x standards for information security, supplemented with specific requirements of the automotive industry. Since 2018, every company working for customers in the German automotive industry (especially for OEM Volkswagen AG) needs to demonstrate certification according to TISAX.
